Cartier’s collection of accessories has always been very strong, from the very early years onwards. There have been a years where the variety in the collection was pretty small, like around 1990, but nowadays Cartier’s collection is really strong in the high end section, but also in the more affordable collections.
The collection of belt buckles is really large and there is almost for every watch model an accompanying belt buckle. Absolute cool to see a Tank Chinoise or Tortue with matching belt buckle. New in the collection is a stunning buckle for the Tank Asymetrique, a watch that was released in yellow gold only, in a limited edition of 150 pieces in 2008. Why Cartier is launching this gorgeous looking buckle in a white metal (palladium finished) while the watch was released in yellow gold only, is something we will probably never find out. Sometimes I have a feeling that the Accessories department, has no clue what the Watch department is planning and launching every year, since Cartier’s collection of watches is since 2008, mainly in pink gold (and in white metals).
Yellow gold is hardly used anymore for Cartier watches. The collection of cufflinks was growing every year, but only with yellow gold- or white metal models. A great pity for all the owners of pink gold watches.
But……. better late than never, I am happy to draw your attention to three models in pink gold and one is very new.
Great progress in the Cufflink Collection of Cartier, where the style aficionados of today, certainly will be enthusiastic about.
